Mass Timber in Architecture Design
Mass timber will impact the 21st Century, as concrete and steel did in the 20th Century. Nick will explore the use of mass timber in the design of tall buildings and why the use of wood in our built environment is important in the battle against global warming. The presentation will feature the benefits of using wood in architecture as well as past and current projects.

Nick Bevanda is the Vice President in charge of Design (Western Canada), for the firm of HDR/CEI Architecture Inc. Most recently he lead a team of Architects, in the design of a 40 story office building, constructed from mass timber and is presently working on a 22 story residential wood tower for the Penticton Lakeside Resort.
