All Candidates Forum on the Environment

When: Thursday October 11th, 2018
Time: 7:00 - 9:00pm
Where: Shatford Centre, 760 Main St, Penticton BC

Format: There will be two rounds of questions. The moderator will choose the questions from the list below, and each candidate will have 2 minutes to respond to each of the two questions asked, one question on climate change and sustainability, and one question on the environment.

Climate Change and Sustainability 1. What role do you see for municipalities in addressing climate change? 2. What municipal actions would you champion to reduce greenhouse gas emissions? 3. What steps would you take to encourage Penticton residents to reduce their energy use and overall greenhouse gas emissions?

The Natural Environment 1. What can Penticton do to become a fire-smart community? 2. How would you encourage protection of the local environment within the municipality? 3. How can the municipality provide incentives for developers and property owners to conserve water and protect natural habitats.

If time allows, there will be questions taken from the floor submitted to the organizers and read by them.
